Sourav Ganguly praises Hardik Pandya for his match-winning abilities
Dada also hailed Rahane for his consistency.
The former Indian cricketer and skipper Sourav Ganguly has lavished praises on the latest sensation of Indian cricket Hardik Pandya. He was awarded Man of the Series in the recently concluded ODI series against Australia. The youngster also had a brilliant outing in Sri Lanka. However, Ganguly believed that he was the biggest revelation for India in the series.
Pandya has lived up to the expectations so far in his short career and has impressed everyone. He scored his maiden ton in the debut Test series against Sri Lanka. Even the skipper Virat Kohli rates him high and also went on to compare him to Ben Stokes. The all-rounder was also tried at 4 in a couple of matches and the move had reaped rich rewards. Pandya will now be raring to go against New Zealand and win more games for his country.
Ganguly hails Rahane for his consistency
Sourav Ganguly, in his column for Times of India, has written that Hardik has emerged as match-winning in the series and termed his development as the biggest positive for Men in Blue. “India dominated the series in all aspects against Australia, except a few blemishes here and there. The biggest plus for me has been Hardik Pandya. He has shown progression in his game and in the last few months has evolved as one more match-winner. He has natural talent and good temperament both while batting and bowling. He will need to keep on channelizing this in the right direction over a period of time,” he wrote.
The president of CAB also praised Ajinkya Rahane for his consistency whenever he was presented with the opportunities. He scored 4 half-centuries in the five matches and impressed the selectors. “Ajinkya Rahane has made the most of whatever opportunity he has got but I am sure, he too must have felt the pinch at missing out on a few hundreds. Rahane needs to be kept in the loop as an opener for T20s also because he definitely has value at the top, Dada added.
