1. Mumbai Indians vs. Rajasthan Royals (56th match, IPL 7, 2014):
Two big teams locked horns for a spot in the playoffs and loosing here would mean an exit from the IPL, and amidst all these the Mumbai Indians (MI) took on the Rajasthan Royals (RR). Rajasthan batted first and gave a stiff target of 190 for the hosts to chase. They reached that mark with the help of some classy batting from Sanju Samson and Karun Nair, who made their half centuries after an early collapse. In the second innings MI openers had to chase down a mammoth total of 190, but their primary task was to get past that score within 14.5 overs to touch the required net run rate (NRR) mark in order to make it to the playoffs. The MI batsmen Simmons and Michael Hussey gave them a great start only to get out within a short span. The Mumbai team occasionally stumbled in the run chases, and the scores were identical at 14.3 overs with the same net run rate. At this stage, only one team had the opportunity to win, and it was MI. The batsmen at the crease, Aditya Tare was well aware of the situation and hit a six on the leg side when their team was in need of four runs to make it to the playoffs.
Corey Anderson was awarded the Man of the Match for a knock 95 not out.
