There have been some exemplary batting collapses in cricket in recent years. The bowlers suddenly find life on the pitch, one wicket leads to another and another. It has happened to India various times and there is some curiosity to see if it will happen again. Though it might bring the opposition to celebrate, it triggers the team facing it like nothing else.

Never the easiest things to watch for a fan if your favourite team is in that sort of trouble. Here we present to you, five of the worst batting collapses by India in One Day Internationals.

1. India v Australia, 4th ODI, Canberra, 2015.

After Australia clinched the series 3-0 at a nail-biting contest at MCG, both teams headed to Canberra for the dead rubber. For India, it was to play for pride and also to erase the bitter memories so far in the series.

Indian bowlers repeated their poor performance and allowed Australia to set a target of 349 for India. India began well with Dhawan and Kohli posting centuries as India looked well in the course to register the highest successful chase in Australia. But Dhawan’s wicket turned the tide in Australia’s favour. The Indian score slid from 277-1 to 323 all out as Australia snatched a victory from the jaws of a defeat.
