During the sixth game of IPL 2022 between the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), former Punjab and Delhi franchise player Ishant Sharma was seen in the virtual guest box, which left the fans in shock.

Ishant was seen wearing a sponsored shirt for RuPay, sitting in front of a plain background. The guest box showcases fans cheering from home for their team, and it came as a shocker when Ishant Sharma was seen among them. He was a part of that guest box as a promoter of RuPay, as it was crystal clear. But to see him in that place made the fans feel sorry for him.

Ishant was a part of the IPL till the 2021 edition and represented Delhi Capitals. After a snapshot of the virtual guest box went viral on social media, people called it an ‘unreal decline’, looking at how he has ended up in his career.

Ishant Sharma went unsold in IPL 2022 mega auction

Fans were more shocked when even the commentators ignored the fact that the legendary India bowler was a part of the virtual guest box. Meanwhile, Ishant went unsold in the 2022 mega auction. This time, there were 10 franchises at the auction, and not a single one of them showed any interest in getting him on their team. Ishant has played 93 IPL matches in his career and has 72 wickets in his bag.

He last played a Test match against New Zealand in November 2021. He hasn’t made to the Test squad ever since. Ishant couldn’t manage to pick up a single wicket during this Test against the Kiwis, but his experience in this format of the game played a major factor. The last time he appeared in an IPL match was for the Delhi Capitals when he played against the Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
