'Yuzi thinks he can open the batting for us' - RCB's cheeky take as Yuzvendra Chahal practices batting in the nets
The leg spinner has often expressed his love for batting in a humorous way though.
Royal Challengers Bangalore have got back to winning ways in the UAE leg of the IPL after having faced two consecutive defeats. The Virat Kohli-led side is currently placed at the third position of the points table with 14 points to their account. However, the other sigh of relief for RCB is the form of their ace spinner Yuzvendra Chahal.
Chahal did not have a very good run in the first half of the tournament. He also missed out on being named in the upcoming T20 World Cup squad. But in the second leg, Chahal has made a strong comeback and has provided the team with much-needed breakthroughs. What has now intrigued the onlookers is the desire of the spinner to take charge with the bat as well.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise took it to their official social media accounts to share the video of the spinner. In the clip, he is spotted hitting a few balls in the nets and that has fascinated the fans. The team also added a fitting caption to the post which further garnered the audacity of the occasion. “Yuzi thinks he can open the batting for us. @yuzi_chahal #PlayBold #WeAreChallengers #IPL2021,” the caption read.
The leg spinner has often expressed his love for batting in a humorous way though and has claimed that he can bat better than what people think. Recently, when RCB locked horns with RR, he hinted that he would bat at number three for the team. Whilst the match, the broadcasters had put up a question so as to who should bat at three for RCB.
The options included KS Bharat, Glenn Maxwell, and AB de Villiers. The Australian all-rounder saw the question and pointed towards Chahal. Reacting to it, the leg-spinner gestured that he should bat at that spot for RCB. Thus, after RCB Tweeted his video, he came up with a reply to them and wrote “No.3.”
In the last game, RR’s openers got to a steady start. Evin Lewis registered his half-century but then RCB’s bowler made a strong comeback. Chahal picked up two wickets in the game.
