Harry Brook has taken the T20 circuit by storm with his jaw-dropping performances this calendar year.
2. Gujarat Titans
Gujarat Titans scripted history in the 15th edition of the cash-rich league by winning the IPL crown in their debut season itself. Gujarat had a lot of positives in their outstanding campaign but they struggled to find the right candidate for the number three position in the batting line-up.
GT tried the likes of Vijay Shankar, Sai Sudharsan, and Matthew Wade at the slot but neither of them were able to set the stage ablaze with their performances. Though Gujarat has shown faith in the trio and retained them ahead of the IPL 2023 auction, the team management would like to cushion themselves with top-quality batters to avoid any hiccups in the upcoming season.
Therefore, Gujarat could look at Brook to ease their batting concerns. The 23-year-old, who generally bats in the middle order has the potential to bat in the top order too. He is a destroyer of pace bowling and can also play spin quite well.
The swashbuckling batter showed his ability to spin in the T20I series against Pakistan which saw him smash 238 runs in seven games at a strike rate of 163.01. Thus, the England batter could be a great addition to the Gujarat side. Hence, GT might target Brook at the IPL 2023 auction.
