IPL 2023: 5 Players from INR 1 crore bracket who might go unsold
Ahead of the player auction, 991 players (714 Indian and 277 overseas) have thrown in their names to go under the hammer.
2. Mohammad Nabi
Mohammad Nabi has been a superstar of the game in the shortest format and has shown his all-round prowess in T20 leagues around the world. He has featured in 355 matches and amassed 5203 runs at a strike rate of 137.64. On the bowling front, the 37-year-old has bagged an insane tally of 322 wickets at an economy of 6.99.
Kolkata Knight Riders picked the veteran all-rounder at the 2022 mega auction to add depth to the side. However, Nabi failed to break into the playing XI and had to warm the bench for the entire season. The Afghanistan legend did not fit into KKR’s scheme of things going forward and the team management released him from the squad.
In the last auction, it was only KKR who showed interest in signing the ace all-rounder, and with the Kolkata franchise also deciding to move past him, it will be tough for Nabi to find a bidder at the forthcoming marquee event. Further, Nabi is at the twilight of his career and franchises will be hesitant in signing him at the auction.
