Mitchell Starc became the costliest player in the history of IPL after getting sold to KKR, for a staggering amount of INR 24.75 crore. Mumbai Indians (MI) and DC were initially involved in a bidding war for Starc but after the entry of Knight Riders and GT, both sides opted to exit the contention.

Eventually, the two-time IPL champions KKR got the better of Titans and fetched the Aussie paceman at the humongous amount. Starc will play IPL after nine years and Kolkata will expect him to be exceptional with the ball while leading their pace attack. The 33-year-old is in great form this year, as he showcased his bowling mettle in the 2023 World Cup and 2023 World Test Championship (WTC) final.

In the knockout games of the ODI extravaganza, he picked up three-wicket hauls against South Africa and hosts India to guide his side to convincing victories. Talking about his IPL record, the veteran has grabbed 34 wickets in 27 outings at a frugal economy of 7.17. Serving Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2015, he ended up as the fifth-highest wicket-taker in the tournament, with 20 wickets in 13 contests at an economy of 6.76.
