With the T20 World Cup approaching fast, the ongoing warm-up games are a perfect opportunity for all participating teams to get into the groove. Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe will face each other in the third warm-up game ahead of the start of the mega tournament on October 11.

Sri Lanka, who recently won the Asia Cup, are yet to play a competitive game after the final, while Zimbabwe recently played a three-match ODI series in Australia and interestingly won the third match to register their first-ever win against Australia in Australia.

Sri Lanka will be looking to finalise their playing XI in the two warm-up games. In the group stage of the competition, the Lankan Lions will challenge the likes of Namibia, UAE and the Netherlands and if they manage to finish in the top two, they will qualify for the all-important Super12 of the competition.

Zimbabwe, on the other hand, have done reasonably well in the recent past. They found success against Bangladesh and also played well against India and Australia and thus, the team will be full of confidence. Like Sri Lanka, they will look also look forward to working on the tiny details and building the perfect XI for the T20 World Cup.

SL vs ZIM Probable Top Performers

Probable best batter

Bhanuka Rajapaksa

Bhanuka Rajapaksa was the leading run-scorer for Sri Lanka in the recently-concluded Asia Cup. The 30-year-old is known for playing destructive cricket and his form is going to be mighty crucial for Sri Lanka in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Like all others, this is the time for him to adjust to the conditions and provide much-needed firepower in their middle order.

Probable best bowler

Wanindu Hasaranga

The poster boy of Sri Lankan cricket, Wanindu Hasaranga has been brilliant in the shortest format of the game. He was the second-leading wicket-taker in the Asia Cup but in Australian conditions, things will not be easy. Despite that, he has got the potential to change the fate of the game in an over.
