These players would've certainly triggered a bidding war in the auction had they been released.

Anrich Nortje has been very impressive for the Delhi Capitals ever since his IPL debut in 2020. He made his first impression with 22 scalps from 16 outings and played an instrumental role in them making a maiden final appearance. The South African pacer was once again a part of DC for IPL 2021 and was yet again impressive finishing with 12 wickets from eight appearances.

Nortje has been retained by the 2020 runners-up for INR 6 crore which is way more than what he was paid in 2021. He actually had come in as replacement for England all-rounder Chris Woakes who pulled out of the tournament due to bio-bubble issues after going unsold in the auction.

But, the Proteas speedster would have certainly received a lot more had DC decided to part ways with him. The former champions KKR, Sunrisers Hyderabad or the Mumbai Indians could have brought him on board considering that they need fast bowlers.
