The veteran cricketer has been instrumental in Sharma's development, dedicating considerable time to fine-tuning the young player's batting technique. The mentorship has been instrumental in building Sharma's confidence to face international-level bowling.

Sharma had a stellar performance in IPL 2024 for Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he scored 484 runs at an impressive strike rate of 204.21 and hit 42 sixes, the most in the season. His IPL success earned him his maiden national call-up for India's tour to Zimbabwe in July, where he scored his first international century in the second T20I.

The former Indian all-rounder has emphasized the importance of technical skills and mental strength, implanting in young players like Sharma the belief that they can compete at a higher level. The young all-rounder is currently gearing up for the upcoming domestic season and is hopeful to get another chance to represent the nation.
