World Cup 2019: Players in 2015 CWC and their replacement in CWC 2019
The selection was based mainly on the performances in the recent outings.
7) Yuzvendra Chahal – Axar Patel
The left arm off-spinner is a perfect recipe for the white ball cricket. Axar Patel can bowl tight spells and can provide the required balance to the side with his efficient batting. Axar Patel has been on the fringe of the Indian team with his all-round abilities. In CWC 2015 Axar Patel was selected in the squad as a back-up spinner. He didn’t play any game, as India’s first choice tweakers were having a good tournament.
Yuzvendra Chahal is a leg-spinner who is always hungry for wickets. In the last couple of years, Chahal has been a match winner for the Indian team in white ball cricket. Chahal is a wicket-taking option for the team, as he has the courage to bowl attacking lines. Like Axar, Chahal can bowl tight spells, and he can be the lead spinner if chances are given to him, but Jadeja’s presence may keep him out of the playing XI.
