BCB can go for a safer option by appointing Shakib Al Hasan as the captain of the side. It has been learnt that Shakib Al Hasan is on the course to become the skipper, once his future with the Test side is decided.

Notably, Shakib has represented his country in 61 matches where he bagged 4113 runs in 112 innings at an average of 39.17. He also scalped 224 wickets so far at an economy of 2.95. He already has the experience of captaining the Test side before.

During his previous tenure as captain, he managed to win three Tests out of 14 (the rest are lost) with a win percentage of 21.42. Still, this is the highest amount of win percentage for any Bangladesh Test captain till now. Shakib Al Hasan would be a good option for an instant solution rather than a long-term.
