The ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 has finally gotten exciting with a couple of close finishes and one wicket win. However, still, the tournament has been batter-friendly. There have been multiple scores of over 380, two scores of 399, and the highest-ever team total in the World Cup of 428 scored in the tournament.

On the other side of the coin are the surfaces where the batters have struggled a lot. One such pitch has been at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. England was bowled out for 129 against India, while Australia managed just 177 against South Africa.

Keeping this in mind, here are the four batters who didn’t manage to trouble the scorers during their matches at the Lucknow venue in this ODI World Cup 2023.

This happened during the Australia vs. Sri Lanka match in Lucknow on October 16. Kusal Mendis won the toss and chose to bat first. Pathum Nissanka (61) and Kusal Perera (78) did well for a good start, but the rest of the Lankan batting failed as they managed 209 runs. Adam Zampa picked up four wickets.

In response, while Mitchell Marsh scored 52, Dilshan Madushanka removed two of the most experienced Australian batters for cheap. He got David Warner LBW for 11 and 4 balls later, dismissed Steve Smith for a duck, also LBW. Smith was hit plumb in front of the middle and leg and was given out.
